The Role
A specialty chemicals business is looking for an Analytical Chemistry Lead to manage their laboratory operations. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll lead a small team, ensure ISO9001 compliance, and deliver high-quality analytical support to production and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day Analytical laboratory operations and prioritise workload
Mentor and develop QC Analysts
Perform and oversee analysis (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF, titrations)
Review data, ensure accuracy, and maintain ERP records
Develop and validate analytical methods
Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment
Support audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement
About You
Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent experience)
Strong hands-on analytical experience (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF)
Experience in analytical troubleshooting
Background in manufacturing (chemicals/pharma preferred)
Knowledge of ISO9001 and QC systems
Organised, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
